Being in bench…
wake up late…
dress – not up to the dress code…
never worry who is the PM or TL…
never need to apply leave…
cafeteria – the place for brainstorming…
mails – the best way to say the world “Am in Bench!”…
project calls – saying you, you are getting old in bench and its high time…
but who has the project – no one knows…
all guys with a clean shirt – are seen as PMs coming to interview…
but then, they too are new entries to Bench…
And this is called the “Honey Moon” period of life…
These issues may seem to be cool and a happy thing…
but whats the reality,
After 1 yr being in Bench, you come to know even your college juniors in other companies
earn more and are in projects – asking you “Are you still in Bench???”
And one day your family asks you to go to the groccery shop to buy items – saying “you dont do anything at office – atleast do at home”
Another day – your friends (in other companies) start saying “macha better look for another job” or even “send me your resume and i will try my level best”
At last your mind asks you –
why are you born?
why are you under estimated or have you over estimated yourself?
why did you get trapped here?
Will the company cut down jobs and eventually you?
and so on…
“Bench is a place of nowhere”
-So corporates, allow 13% of your employees to be in bench but dont allow 13% of a person’ career to be in bench.
…think rational…
